He wants to be a racecar driver

So Harrison has now experienced the incredible speed and noise of Indy car racing.  Grandpa Don and I took him up to the speedway for time trials last Sunday.  We got up there at 10 and unfortunately, due to bad information I had received directly from the speedway a week prior, the cars didn't start running until noon!  They had told me that there would be "practice" from 10 to 11 and then the qualifying would start at noon.  Practice was actually from 9 until 10, instead of 10 until 11 like we had been told, so we did hear a single racecar as we were parking...which Harrison thought was awesome since it was loud as hell even outside of the track.  Then silence.

We killed two hours in the bleachers watching race cars being towed around, plus a Navy enlistment ceremony led by Senator Dick Lugar, and the other sights and sounds of a busy racetrack.

Once the cars started, Harrison absolutely loved it (as did Don and I!).  And he actually was very well behaved despite two hours of boredom.  I think he had enough to look at it and there was enough activity down on the track that he was kept somewhat occupied.

Harrison had earplugs in for about half the time, but then he got brave and took them out and realized that full volume is twice the fun.

Here are some videos.  If history repeats itself, the videos won't work since I've had little success getting video clips to upload and play consistently on the blog.
