Breakfast shared
Now that Harrison is feeding himself, he is quickly becoming Sage's favorite human. She will eat just about anything, including bananas and kiwi. She especially likes his wheat poofs and she is lucky because he likes to sling those around, usually onto the floor.

Mr. Mom
Harrison ran a temp for 2 days this week, and yesterday I was tasked with staying home with him. Fevers are a no-no at daycare, Danza was needed at the hospital, and I luckily had nothing on my work calendar so I got the nod from the captain to watch after the little skipper. In between crying fits we managed to have some fun despite his general malaise. Of course I took pictures. Shall we get started??...
Initially after Danza's departure, Harrison was happy. For a few moments.
Then he began his decline.
Then he wailed.
The walker sprinkled with banana flavored wheat poofs proved to be just what the tired and grumpy skipper needed.
Rejuvenated and curious, he explored the house. At high speed. We rearranged the furniture a bit in anticipation of the 2009 Father's Day Extravaganza weekend and Harrison found great joy in the newly organized pad.
More butt time in the kitchen. He just loves that phone! The chief of police and the lieutenant governor have been known to call Harrison and pass along super-top-secret-mission-critical information. The governor called today, and Harrison ordered him to send the national guard to Kids' Club to scare his friends. He speaks in code, but I think I deciphered the command correctly.
SICK CHILDREN...TO THE CAGE!
He is always interested in what Sage is chewing on. I don't know if he expects her to share her bone, or if he just wants to be sure she isn't stealing his poofs.
His countless tears during the day caused his moisture content to fall, so once mom got home we rehydrated. Harrison loves his ice cold bottled water.

The good news is that he seems to be over his short-lived illness, and we think it may have just been part of the teething process.
He/we can't wait to see everyone this weekend. He sent Danza out to get water balloons.

730 days for us
Doozer and I celebrated 730 days of matrimony on 6/2/07. Probably "no big deal" to some of you up in the tens-of-thousands of days of matrimony, but it was a nice milestone worthy of celebration for our young marriage.
We left H at home with a sitter, and sped 45 minutes along country roads to the Story Inn for dinner. The food was less than spectacular (Danza's halibut was battered in salt) but overall it was a very nice evening for the team.
Actually, Danza was not blitzed in these pictures...but believe what you will.

1825 days for Sage
Yesterday Sage turned 5. By yesterday, I mean June 7th, 2009. It was a good day for us. Sage got lots of Triscuits and Wheat Thins, she enjoyed lots of yard time, and Harrison even laid off the chase-dog-with-walker routine.
I thought I'd share a few photos of her life.
These are Sage's parents. We don't know their names. Her mom definitely looks like her, and her dad just looks goofy. And excited.
Here she is in the back of the mini. She loved the mini, because she had lots of space to walk around and the entire back bench seat was hers.
Sage likes to go fishing, but the boat is too small. She waits intently and patiently for the hook-up. Then she sniffs the catch and wags the tail a bit, then she sleeps where she can find the space.
She also likes to wade in the river, waiting for dad to pull in something she can sniff.
She likes couch time. She no longer is allowed couch time.
She used to like to read, but she didn't like getting smacked by Dad.
Back when mom and dad went camping, she was always excited to tag along. She enjoys the woods and the campground smells, but the various characters found in your typical Indiana/Kentucky campground left her a little uneasy.
Sage knows she has a big face. She has learned to live with it.
Here she is heading home from the breeder...enjoying some rawhide and thinking about how to spell her new last name.
The look on her face after her first experience with Skye the cat.
Danza has learned to coexist with Sage, and even occasionally embraces her. Sage stinks, and leaves hair everywhere. This is difficult for Danza.
Sage is my dog, and I love her.
On a trip to Yellowwood with her hunter orange on.
In the front garden many moons ago. Good dog.
Sage, Happy Birthday!! You're the best dog ever.
