Distract...Annihilate

The small-framed midwestern ninja lulls his adversary into a trance with a one-legged jumping spin, then distracts with a right-legged riverdance-jig, then...delivery of the terminal blow:

Super-Judo-Forehead-Blitzkrieg!

Did you giggle and snort, too? Thanks Harrison, this is one of my new favorites.

3-21-09 Corydon trip

We went down to Corydon last Saturday because Grunkle David and Grunkle Dan were in town and staying with Diane and Randy. Harrison decided that 'Grunkle' would be easier to handle than 'Great-Uncle' and we saw no problem with that. I added the 'k' to add to the fun.

Harrison and Parker had a chance to get to know each other better. H thought P was super cool. He just wanted to hug and smack him. We've noticed that when Harrison really likes something, he swings it around and pounds on it to really drive home his affection. Like with Danza's hair. He yanks on it as hard as he can...with a big grin on his face. But I digress...on to the pics:

Unkle Ken scared the crap out of Harrison. Don't fear my son, I'm scared of Ken too.

Could that be a Led Zeppelin onesie?!?!?
Yes.

Grunkle Dan liked H and H thought Grunkle Dan was neat. Freshly cleansed, on this day Harrison's hair was at about a 9. The warm rays of sun streaming through the window create an almost angelic halo.

Harrison grudgingly moves forward with his peas knowing that next week he moves up to green beans. Again, angelic halo.

Parker is an extremely well behaved boy. He just quietly observes and forms his opinions. I would describe him as 'calculating'.

Ken gets personal with a crusader.

Is this not a great shot of Randy?! I'm also digging Doozer's reflection in the window.

Plotting against Max has already begun.

Daffodils

Mom wanted some pictures of the daffodils in our yard. How does Harrison manage to get into ALL of my pictures?

The good life

This video is from quite a while ago...when he was first beginning to enjoy his hanging jumperoo. He just seems truly happy. And he spins the beee-jeeesus out of that wheel!

Lexie, Dan & Weston

Lexie, Dan and Weston Matthews joined us for dinner the other day. We grilled burgers in the front yard. Weston and Harrison are just a few days apart in age, but in this picture please focus on the arms and hands of the two youngsters. Harrison better learn to talk or run his way out of confrontational situations or else he is going to get his ass kicked. I think Weston could crush a cue ball in that hand. His forearm is about the size of Harrison's thigh.

Weston got a kick out of Sage. Sage probably wanted to kick Weston.

Diane got Harrison a fashion bib. Hmmmm

8 from the date!

St. Patrick's Day was our 8 year anniversary of our first date. Danza had the day off so she and Harrison brought me lunch and we walked down to Dunn meadow and had a picnic. The weather was perfect but Harrison was squinty from the bright sun so we wrapped his head in a towel.

Danza brought me 8 green balloons, one for each of our 8 magical years.

Harrison was unemotional. No smiles, no noises.

Sage thinks about the birds and the neighbors' cat. A lot. This is unrelated to our 8 year anniversary.

This is how Danza makes a grocery list. Also unrelated.

Most of the crusaders are still going strong. The weather has been awesome all week. Danza has daffodils all over the house because they grow in clumps all over our yard. We've been warned by our neighbor Marsha Barreiro that if history repeats itself, thieves will likely try to steal flowers from our yard.

Thieves don't know how heavily armed I am.

signs of spring

Spring must be just around the corner. In an otherwise dead-grass-yard, I found these little crusaders encouraging everyone to get outside and get some sun. I love the snow, but spring and summer mean fly fishing and I could use some of that. Plus, Harrison's first summer is sure to be a hoot...so I think everyone in our little family is looking forward to warm weather.

Fluent in spanish

Not only does he know how to count...it seems he can do it in Spanish. The chuckles indicate understanding....yes? We may have created a savant.

Overalls

There might be nothing cuter than little boys in overalls. Perhaps little boys in their pee wee T-ball uniforms. Look for those pictures in about 5 years.

chomp

This video was from a few weeks ago. Harrison is steadily getting more aggressive with the spoon.

Grandma's 94th!

Grandma's 94th birthday was on Thursday - 3/5/09. That means that she has wisdom dating back to 1915. Impressive.

Here are some pictures. My cousin Greg's wife Cathy was highly motivated to give H a bottle, and their son Jack was curious about the little creature.

MOTORBOAT!!!

Harrison gets so excited thinking about taking out the boat with Dad to fly fish. To pass the time until his is old enough, he just sits around and makes his motorboat sounds.
