McQuillen Reunion

I've posted what pictures we have of the reunion weekend HERE. (4-7-2010 UPDATE: Oops, I deleted the album!)

We had a great time and we love to host such awesome events! I'm a little embarrassed about putting out the recycling next week because we've got about 100 pounds of beer and wine bottles. Excess consumption for sure. Those McQuillens like their lager.

It was great to see everyone, and like I said before...lets nail down a date NOW for the next one!

Thanks to all who helped out!

And please share pictures. We don't have as many good shots as we would have liked, but there were lots of fancy cameras there so show 'em if you got 'em.

Harrison is ONE!!!

He made it a full year with no major injuries or arrests!

Thanks to everyone who attended his big party, and we missed all those who could not attend. Unfortunately, we don't have many pictures of the attendees so we're hoping some of you can share photos with us.

From the very limited number of pictures that we have of the party, Picasa album HERE.

Harrison's "happy birthday" Michigan trip

So we just returned home yesterday from our first trip to Pentwater, Michigan. The 7 hour drive home coincided with Harrison's birthday. From my perspective, if I were forced to ride in a vehicle for 7 hours after someone tightly strapped me to a chair, enduring many highway miles while sitting in my own urine and feces, eating when my captors felt I should eat, drinking when my captors felt the time was right...all on the VERY FIRST BIRTHDAY THAT I EVER HAD, I would be very disgruntled. Harrison took it all in stride. In fact, he was a wonderful travel companion. To pass the time he just counted the cars that we passed.

Michigan was wonderful. The house is great, the location of the house perfect. It is a short walk to the beach and an even shorter walk (block and a half to be precise) to the main drag of downtown Pentwater.

Harrison loved the sand and he made no issue of sleeping in the pack-n-play or being slightly off schedule at times. We kept him up late the first night there so that he could experience the Lake Michigan sunset.

He deliberately ate sand once, and only once. He fell on his face in the sand only once. We adults busied ourselves with exploring the town, trips to the beach, a multitude of fix-it projects around the house, and some furniture purchases for the house.

The only missing ingredient was the fishing. I didn't even bring my fishing gear...the equivalent of treason under the Anglers' Code. Next trip to Pentwater I will definitely pursue fish.

I'm hoping Doozer will post more details of the trip because I've got to go to bed. We had so many pictures to share that I opted to put them all on Picasa - click here.
