harrison's week-in-pictures

Harrison stands on a stool to brush his teeth now (we used to just hold him).

He joined a traveling band. They rock hard and often and H is the tambourine man.

This week he sat around, naked, quite a bit.

Sage is sleeping here more often, right next to the table, right next to Harrison. Strategy: dropped food will strike her in the face.

Harrison will eat peas. And no other green vegetables. He loves clementines, bread is ok, cajun turkey lunch meat isn't recommended, and whole milk (organic) is the bomb.

Peas taste better after a good smashing. Peas are never to be eaten from the plate, but instead dumped onto and consumed directly from the table surface.

One of the top four foods on earth is the sweet potato. Eat it quickly by the fistful so that it spreads across your face. With sweet potatoes, there is no time for manners, pleasantries or utensils.

H is getting better at brushing his teeth. He gets excited about it.

Q: Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?
A: I see a red bird looking at me.

Nose rug burn?

Yesterday at daycare, Harrison took a dive in the playroom and got a carpet burn on his nose. Of all the places to get a rug burn. How do you drag your nose across carpet fast enough to make this happen?

Harrison describes the serious nature of such an injury. No, actually his chalk had just been confiscated for drawing on the wrong wall and he briefly went to about level 8 on the freak-out scale.

Parker's birthday party

Last Saturday was Parker's birthday party. Lots of family and friends were there and Park scored big in the toy department. He also smashed a lot of cake into his face.

Festivus

cake.....goooood

Harrison thought the mini-dog was a cat.
Little kids sadly watch the big kids play outside.

The father dreams of the day his son will build magnificent things.

Drawing from Grandpa Donald. It was a show-stopper.
Mini-dog invading personal space.

One leg, dog kisses & puffballs

We are trying to teach Harrison to balance on one leg, kind of like Ralph Macchio.

Here, Harrison is giving hugs and kisses to Sage.

And here, Harrison shows Auntie Em the art of hurling puffballs.

He's in the truck again

Like a fine wine, we aged Harrison 3 months and put him back in the truck for some updated pictures. Anne got him the hat, just like his dad's. He wears it well, and he actually seems to like to wear a baseball cap now.

In the three months separating these photos, he has added considerable body mass, he started walking (and running and dancing), and he just looks a lot older. Amazing how quickly things change.

Here are the old shots taken October 24, 2009.

Here are the new ones:

Lloyd Christmas

Due to scheduling conflicts, the Lloyd Christmas was postponed until after New Years. We all gathered at mom and dad's in Nashville for a feast and presents. Christa, Drew, Emmy and Rosa spent the day and left in the evening to head back to Cinci. Harrison's crew spent the night...but what a long night it was. H had a hard time sleeping, cried multiple times during the night, and didn't let us get very good sleep.

Mom and Dad loved it. Harrison provided great entertainment at breakfast, and it was a very Merry Christmas.

With all the busy kids, things were a little chaotic at times. Then throw in the three large dogs doing THIS on the back deck.
And here is the "H Bomb" signature move with some help from Drew and Emmy.

If it's noisy, he likes it

Harrison's new thing is to find his noisiest toys and drag them around the house. He has discovered that he can use multiple toys in tandem to maximize volume.

Architecture + Clapping

Harrison has been building a lot since he got all of his blocks for Christmas. Drew and Christa and family even supplied him with another matching jumbo set, so he now has the capability to build towering structural marvels. He always applauds himself after projects are completed, right before he demolishes them with a karate chop.

"Claps to me for building and destroying Hotel H."

"Claps for mom and dad because they are feeling blue. Dad, try clapping! It always works!"
