Hybrid fishing

A week ago on Sunday I made it out to the lake for some early morning hybrid bass chasing. I had run into a guy named Matt Dunn up at FlyMasters in Indy about a year ago. I recognized him because I had stumbled across his blog - www.fishbeer.com - which is about fly fishing and beer, and he lives in Bloomington. So a year ago, we talked about fishing together on Lake Monroe and exchanged information but nothing ever materialized. Then about two weeks ago I went into JL Waters, the downtown Bloomington fly fishing and outdoor store. And there was Matt Dunn, who just so happens to be the new manager of the fly fishing department at JL Waters. He is wrapping up a thus-far-7-year PhD program at IU so he is able to fish quite a bit. Oh, the memories and freedoms of being a student...

So we arranged to fish Sunday morning and I met him in the K-Mart parking lot at 5:30 a.m. After much searching in heavy fog literally all across the whole lake, I finally found some fish and Matt took over from there, landing a couple nice 4 pounders. I think Matt had a great time because he doesn't usually have the luxury of fishing for wipers from a boat (with the benefit of electronics to help find them). Here are a few shots. Also check out www.fishbeer.com for his own pictures of our trip, plus his other fishing escapades.

NOW I GO TO HOLLYWOOD!!!

Harrison has apparently grown tired of Bloomington. He packed himself in a box and asked to be shipped somewhere more interesting. We considered shipping him to Lauren in L.A. (interesting place I'm told), or perhaps to Fairbanks as he really likes bears, or perchance to the Indianapolis zoo where he can frolic with the bears but still make it home in a pinch. But after a few minutes he was done with the box and wanted to chew on the tip of Sage's tail.

(I just liked the picture but needed a caption...)

Women's clothes & steroid injections

Harrison uses the window to pull himself up. He's better at going up than coming down.
Harrison's first trip to the vet. Skye got a steroid injection and is actually scratching his face much less so far. This is good news. The bad news is that if the injection proves effective, Skye will have to shoot up his drugs about once a month.
Harrison raided Danza's closet. He looked me in the eye and said, "If the shirt fits...I wear it."
For his sippy-cup training he felt the need to dress super-manly after photographs of him wearing his mom's clothes surfaced on the internet.
